The Encode Graduate Scheme offers a unique opportunity to understand the different departments within Encode (ProgOps, Marketing, Talent and BizOps), a global educational community in Emerging Tech. This job involves hard work and long hours, but is rewarding in terms of compensation, upside, personal growth, teamwork and responsibility.
It is designed for students who are graduating this academic year (2023/24), as well as recent graduates who may be unsure of what they want to do, but are keen to enter a fast-paced, collaborative environment in the growing Emerging Tech space.
Our Graduate Scheme is atypical for a startup of our size. We have a very clear idea of what we want from hires and believe we can teach those people quickly through responsibility and developing a broad skill-set.
We also recognise that most graduates may not know what they want to specialise in at the start or, even if they do, preconceptions of a role varies significantly with the reality at a company. As such, we give all the benefits of working at a startup (fast-pace, responsibility, ambitious culture) whilst giving the flexibility of a corporate graduate scheme (foundational training, trying different things, being part of a cohort). We hire all year round for the Graduate Scheme with no fixed start date. We hire for immediate or post-graduation start.
The grad scheme lasts 6 months, during which you will have the opportunity to work in 3-4 different teams. After this, you can choose the department you want to join based on your first-hand experience and what suits you best.
You will sit in each department for roughly 1.5 months
After 6 months you’ll be asked to specialise in one area
A student graduating this academic year (2023/24), a recent graduate, or a person early in their career (we don’t ask for work experience, we’ll teach you everything you need to know)

Clear social ability and people skills, demonstrably from team-based activities or/and leadership. You should be very comfortable/thrive when talking to others.
Evidence of atypical achievement away from Undergraduate Degree. Examples include extra-curricular activities, sports, arts, post-graduate study, research, projects, side-hustles, jobs whilst studying, general life experience.
Clear motivation for the role/company/industry/startups. We expect successful candidates to have a demonstrable and convincing reason for wanting to work for this type of company, this industry, this company's mission and this role.
